DESCRIPTION:The Markham Tamil Organization (MTO) cordially invites you to our 11th Annual Tamil Thai Pongal (Harvest Festival) celebration\, which will be attended by many Tamil residents living across Markham and York Region\, business leaders\, professionals\, members from various community organizations\, politicians from all levels of governments\, members of law enforcement\, members of the media and many more. \nThe evening program features Tamil arts\, culture and highlights our traditional “Thai Pongal” (Tamil Harvest Festival) theme. “Thai Pongal” is a Thanksgiving Harvest Festival which celebrates a successful farming year and an opportunity to thank the sun and farm animals for their assistance. Thai Pongal is the only festival celebrated around the world by all Tamils and their entire communities. \nVenue: Bill Hogarth Secondary School (100 Donald Sim Ave)\nDate: Friday\, January 17\, 2020\nTime: Reception begins at 5:00 pm Event will start at 6:00 pm \nMarkham Tamil Organization brings tens of thousands of Tamil residents in Markham together to address social\, political and economic needs of the community and aims to work collectively with other communities for social change. \nMTO would be delighted to have your presence at the event.
