SUMMARY:Bharati Park Initiative Launch
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to invite you to join in supporting the Bharati Park Campaign Launch. It is to take place on the September 11th from 6pm to 8 pm at Frontline Community Services\, to remember and pay respect to Bharatiyar on the 98th year anniversary of his passing. \nSubramaniya Bharatiyar\, also famously known as Mahakavi Bharatiyar\, was a poet\, freedom fighter and social reformer. He is considered to be one of the world’s greatest poets and regarded as the father of modern Tamil poetry. His work is an inspiration to many\, not only in India but across the globe. The objective of renaming a park after such a historical figure is to not only pass on its cultural significance for future generations but to preserve one of the richest and oldest renowned languages/histories. Furthermore\, this serves to unify the community and portrays a sharp positive image of inclusivity in the city of Toronto. \nAs part of this effort\, we want to run an online campaign consisting of 100 Tamil Canadian artists sharing support for this initiative by sharing their connection to the work of Bharathi. The online campaign can take many forms\, including a form of a video (not more than 5 minutes) showcasing your talent\, a connection to the work of Bharathi and supporting the initiative. Video is just one of the many forms you can participate in. If you instead would like to share a write-up\, a photo\, a visual art piece\, an audio clip\, a poem\, they are all welcome. \nYour support is very critical for making this initiative a reality. \nIf you are interested\, please let us know as soon as possible. We will be releasing the names of the artists who agree to participate in batches of 10 starting mid of August. \nIn addition\, we will have a stage program at Thamil Isai Kala Mandram on December 11th.
